How to shared folders and files between OS?

Hello Guys!
I got a Windows Xp that got one partion.
Now I plan to install linux mint alongside.
But I would like to be able to share files and work with the same files at the different Os:es (Os in plural).
How would I accomplish this?
do I need a theird partition?
Best regards
Fredrik

They can both - I guess - read the same type of files - and the HD format.

I do not think there will be difficulties - if you just share the directories/files.

Try it :-)

You can mount Windows-drives from Linux using the built-in 'mount' command and access it like you would any other directory. E.g. "mount -t ntfs /dev/sda1 /mnt" - but the exact command depends on your systems.

Mounting Linux drives from Windows requires third party software, such as http://www.ext2fsd.com

No need for separate partitions or the like.
