PLEXTOR MANAGER 96 v1.73
NEW FEATURES/FUNCTIONS:
1) Added support for UltraPleX 40Wide, model number PX-40TSUW.
2) Added support for PleXWriter RW 4/2/20, model number PX-W4220T.
3) Added support for Digital Audio in Windows 98 with USB Speakers.
Please see the USB.DOC file for details.
4) Added a new feature in AudioFS.  Now, you can select the WAV file in
explorer or My Computer.  Then click on the right mouse button and
select Play.  Your Sound Player will automatically launch and begin to
play the WAV file you selected.  In older versions, to play a WAV file you
had to double click on the WAV file you wanted to listen to.  Or, you had
to start a Sound Player on your system and select the file you wanted to
   hear.
5) Added a new feature in AudioFS.  When AudioFS is enabled, you can select
a drive letter for your Plextor drive with a music CD and click on the
right mouse button.  Then you can select Play.  This will launch your Sound
Player and play the whole disc.
BUG FIXES:
1) Fixed a bug in AudioFS.  At the start of the WAV file there was a noise
spike.  This noise spike could be heard during playback of the file.
2) Fixed a bug in AudioFS.  The left and the right audio channels in the WAV
   files were out of phase.
3) Improved implementation of AudioFS.  Now all extracted WAV files in
AudioFS are same identical size as extracted WAV files in Plextor's
Audio Capture program.  Before they would be different by approximately
   44 bytes.
PLEXTOR MANAGER 96 v1.72
NEW FEATURES/FUNCTIONS:
1) Added support for PlexWriter8/20, PX-R820T.
BUG FIXES:
1) Fixed a bug in Audio Capture Utility.  This bug occurred only on systems
where hard disk is larger than 4 GB.  If Plextor Audio Capture utility
was used to extract a track to the hard disk, a message said that there
is no space on hard disk even if there was space.
2) Fixed a bug in Audio Capture Utility.  When extracting the last track
from CD Extra discs, the last track was selected to be captured, a
portion of the data session (second session) was also captured.  This
   would hang Plextor Manager 96.
3) Fixed bug with DiscDupe on Win 95/98 systems.  This was broken in version
1.71.  Newer version of ASPI from Adaptec had to be installed to resolve
this issue.  Now it is not necessary because we fixed this bug.  Although
we still recommend having the latest available ASPI to be installed on
   the system.
4) Disc Info in Plextor Manager 96 had a bug with older format of CD-I discs
where the first session was a hidden session.  The discs were recognized
as Enhanced CD format.  It is now recognized correctly as CD-I format CD.
5) Disc Info in Plextor Manager 96 had a bug with some VideoCD discs.  The
discs were recognized as CD-ROM format discs.  It is now recognized
   correctly as VideoCD format CD.
6) Fixed a bug in Disc Info when recognizing CD Extra format discs.  They
were listed as CD Plus format.  CD Plus is not the correct name for this
format.  It is now recognized as CD Extra.
PLEXTOR MANAGER 96 v1.71
NEW FEATURES/FUNCTIONS:
1) Add support for the UltraPleX 40Max, PX-40TS.
BUG FIXES:
1) Fixed bug with Audiofs.  Could not use Sound Recorder, SNDREC32, to play
Audio CDs when AudioFS was enabled.
PLEXTOR MANAGER 96 v1.70
NEW FEATURES/FUNCTIONS:
1)  AudioFS:
This unique feature of Plextor Manager utilizes one of the well-known
capabilities of our CD-ROM drives, Digital Audio Extraction [DAE], and enables
Plextor owners to view and browse CD-Audio discs as *.WAV files.  AudioFS
allows users to drag and drop these *.WAV files to other applications.  The
extraction occurs automatically.
AudioFS works only in Windows 95 and Windows 98.  It is not supported in
Windows NT.  Plextor drives that are supported by this feature are 4.5x, 8x,
or faster drives.  Plextor CD-R drives are not supported by AudioFS.  Other
manufacturer's drives are also not supported. Please refer to the AUDIOFS.DOC
file for the latest information regarding AudioFS and its use.
2)  ASPI for Windows NT:
Plextor Manager installs Plextor's own ASPI Manager in Windows NT.  Windows NT,
unlike Windows 9x, does not have an ASPI Manager in the operating system.  By
installing our ASPI Manager, you can bring out features of our Plextor Manager
and other software utilities as well as other special capabilities of Plextor
drives in a Windows NT environment.  Plextor's ASPI is used when a host
adapters ASPI manager is not present.  For example, when an Adaptec ASPI
Manager is not present.  Adaptec's ASPI Manager can only be installed on a
Windows NT system if Adaptec products are present.  If an ASPI Manager already
exists, Plextor Manager does not install its ASPI manager.
3)  Plextor Audio Capture 96:
A new function was added to our existing Audio Capture utility.  Command line
parameters can now be used from the RUN menu or from a DOS window.  These
parameters allow a user to extract from multiple devices, multiple audio
tracks and save them to a WAV file on the hard disk.
Usage:  pcap96.exe /ID=x /T=x /F=x </N=x> </HA=x>
/ID=    SCSI ID of the CD-ROM used to capture audio
/T=     First track number to start with capture
/F=     File name of captured track
/N=     Number of tracks to capture starting with first track
                selected (optional)
/HA=    Host Adapter ID if multiple adapters exist in the system
                (optional)
4)  CHANGED THE FILENAME OF CAPTURED AUDIO TRACKS WITH AUDIO CAPTURE UTILITY:
When using older versions of Plextor Manager/Audio Capture utility to extract
audio tracks from an Audio CD, WAV files were saved with filename track1.wav,
track2.wav, etc....  Starting with this version, the default name of saved
files in is track01.wav, track02.wav, etc....
BUG FIXES:
1)  The prefetch buffer for the PlexWriter, model PX-R412C, was incorrectly
displayed.  We corrected this oversight in version 1.70 to display the
    correct value of 2048K.
2)  DiscDupe had a bug during 1x and 2x duplication in Disc-At-Once mode.
This was fixed in DiscDupe version 1.35 which is part of Plextor
    Manager 96 version 1.70.
