Undskyld svend, men jeg havde sgu glemt min aftale her....
________________________________________________________________________
When a program requires more memory (RAM) than is physically available to it (free memory), redundant programs and/or data are automatically paged out of physical memory (a page being 4K in size) and placed in the swapfile (WIN386.SWP) from where the data can be quickly retrieved as and when required. The physical RAM this data occupied now becomes available to the operating system allowing Windows to access up to 2GB more memory than your machine physically has. The effective combined memory space is referred to as virtual memory, and, since Windows can address up to 2GB of physical RAM, up to 4GB of virtual memory is available to it - which is fortunate since Windows uses a 4GB memory model!
