Copied from:
http://www.ilopia.com/windows2003/search.aspx?qid=24Q24: I have installed Visual Studio .Net and when I try to create a new web
project I get this error message (or similar):
Unable to create Web Project 'MyProject'. The file path
'c:\inetpub\wwwroot\MyProject' does not correspond to the URL
'
http://localhost/MyProject'. The two need to map to the same server
location.
IIS 6 is locked down by default. What you'll have to do is add the .tmp MIME
Map extension. To do that, follow these steps:
a.. Click Start->Programs->Administrative Tools->Internet Information
Services
b.. Right click the Web Sites node and click Properties
c.. Click on the HTTP Headers tab and click the MIME Types button
d.. Click Add and in Extension: write .tmp and in MIME type: write
text/plain
e.. Click OK, click OK
f.. Restart IIS
It's the same problem if VS.Net is installed locally, or if it's running on
a client and you upload the project files.
