Loading text into levels

Do you preload the text in any way? Via frameloops or LoadVars? How do you get the text in?

Im trying a model-view-presenter class design...and attempting to use classes in a flash kinda way. I have a model class on _level0 and a logbook class on level0. The logbook itself is loaded in on _level11. When the zoomin of the room is finished it passes a variable to the model to say its ready. In the model, I have several loadvars objects to gather both local and DB vars. I can see that all my vars are coming in and it works when I try it off the server every time. When the zoom is done and and onLoad(success) checks with all my LoadVars, and my logBook.swf is loaded on level11, I call my methods to pass the text from the model to _level11 text fields. But it only seems to work after "refreshing"...make sense?

Do you preload your swf?

yes...it preloads as the first thing you see...the preload bar. That is loading the the room.swf and the logbook.swf.

But then the preloader doesn't work :) Because when it works the second time, it must be the SWF loading. That's my bet anyhow :)

you got me thinking....I have been loading in my script as includes into the first frame of _level0. I just tried putting all my logbook.as methods directly into my logbook.fla...and it seems to be working...could you please try deleting files> refresh >load again and see if it works.

its closer anyway...this time i get in SOME of my local data...and something happens...its a weird bug

but I think its got something to do with the order in which I load things...(though there is nothing wrong with my preloader thank you very much!! :)

Must be some loading problem... Do you use MX04?
