Children at work
In Denmark is it illegal to have a job, if you are less than 13 years. And when you are 13/14 years the only job you can get is to go with newspapers, because the law says that you don’t must care something that can injury you. I think the law is good, because its do that people don’t injury there body’s, when they still are young and in the growing age.
Especially in the East are there very young children there work, because there families are so poor. And the children get that job the adult’s don’t want to have.
Example:
Children work on firework victory where sometimes it’s exploding and the worker dies.
Children diving after pearl’s on very deep water, where it can be dangerous to diving. And they only way they can breath is true a viper there goes from the boat down to children.
Children sew clothe for big company’s, like Nike, Adidas and so on.
Children are prostitute.
____________
All this just because that they are so poor, that they don’t have any choose. A fact is that every 6th children in the world between 5 and 17 years is children workers. That will say 250 million people in the world. But 8,4 million of them, have the hardest jobs. Because they work, they don’t go in school, so when they bee older, they can’t get a god job, so they will always be poor.
So it’s a very bad circle to come in. The Organisation Red Barnet helps families and children, so the young kids can go in a school, instant that work.
When I was 13 years I start going with newspapers. That I done in about one year, and the two last month was a real heal. But when I am 15 years I get a job on Statoil there is a gas station.
I Get 49 DKR. P. hour and that is the normal salary. I am still on Statoil and very happy to be there. I work two times a week, Wednesday and Friday, and booth days I am there about four hours.
My concluding:
I think that Red Barnet and other organisations do what they can to help. I also think we should try talking with Nike and the other companies who are getting their clothing sown in the East because of the cheap labour. They know that it is the children working for them, but they still don't do anything.
