I reinstalled my Windows 2000 and and downloaded the newest version of Avant. Iv'e been using Avant for a couple of years because it's small but has everything I need to brouse, and works well. However I don't care for Avant's search engines of choice, AvantFind and Google. Shortly after I started using the new version I noticed that Avant was independently downloading onto my harddrive. Guess what? A program that blocks off the use of Excite, MyExcite, Webcrawler, Metacrawler, Dogpile etc.: any search engine that uses a competing system of search resources. DIRTY POOL!! Oh well, It caused me to find a much better browser, Maxthon. But I'm going to have to reinstall again so I can use my preferred search engines. Uninstalling Avant doesn't fix it.
