Grumpy coworker

Hello guys,
Hope you could help me out with this problem.
You see most of the time we, at my jobb can work from home. But once and then like back in the good days we need to come to the office.
At the office we work in a open landscape office, no walls.
How ever today we had several incidents when one coworker held meetings in this open landscape over Skype. The rest of us that did not attend those meetings was speaking to each other in the landscape like people do. Several time this day the coworker that was using Skype got annoyed upon us other and saying "Keep it down, you are ruining my meeting. All that you are talking about is also in my meeting, you idiots! “. As you see we was trying to be quite but some of us need to have other meeting over Skype. And there it was agin 'You idiots...".
I was thinking about this since we did not experience the same problem in our meetings. Could it be that the coworker that got so annoyed in some how used her headphones BUT the mic in the computer? I just guess that the rest of us used the headphones in the  headset and the mic in the headset since we did not have the problem with sound interfering from around.
I do not know anything about different mics. But could it be like it is some room-mic in a computer and a mouth-mic in a headset?
I recall that when I use the headset at home and my children palying around loud it is seldom a problem in those meetings.
What do you think guys. Could I tell the grumpy coworker to check her settings next time?

Best regards
Fredrik

Thanks for your answer, do you think I am right about the different mics? Could it some kind of room-mic in the computer? I mean a mic that captures sound all around.

I guess the mic in a headset usually just captures sound around the faces. I do not know if it is so, but if, then I guess there must be names for different kinds of mics.

Best regards Fredrik

i sounds like you are spot on the problem .. your college is using either the mic in the camera or in the computer

@kulawig

A college is like a university, whereas a colleague is a coworker.
