Tillad mig at spørge, rit - hvorfor vil du købe frontpage 2002 istedet for Dreamweaver 4.0 ?

SUMMARY
This article describes some of the new features in FrontPage 2002.

MORE INFORMATION

New Publishing Features
You can publish via FTP by using the following features. In order to fully use FrontPage site management features, it is recommended that you publish your Web via HTTP to a server that is extended with the FrontPage Server Extensions.

Single Page Publishing

This feature allows you to publish only the content that you want. This feature does not require the FrontPage Server Extensions.
Publishing Log File

This file keeps track of all your publishing activities. The easy-to-view log file includes what was published, when it was published, and more details. The publishing log files are stored in the FrontPageTemp directory. This feature does not require the FrontPage Server Extensions.
Background Publishing

You can now continue working on your site while your site is being publishing in the background. This feature does not require the FrontPage Server Extensions.
New Publishing Interface

The new publishing interface allows you to select publishing options, see a list of files on the remote server, and select individual files to publish or not publish. This feature requires that the FrontPage Server Extensions (2000 or 2002) be installed on the remote server but not on your local computer.
Additional New Features
Photo Gallery

The Photo Gallery is a quick and easy way to insert multiple images into your Web site. You can add captions, change image size, switch layouts, and perform other tasks. This feature does not require the FrontPage Server Extensions.
Cross-Browser Enhanced Drawing Tools

These are enhanced tools for drawing, such as AutoShapes, WordArt, and Drawing Canvas. This feature does not require the FrontPage Server Extensions.
Automatic Live Content

With this feature, you can add live content from third-party providers such as MSNBC headlines and weather forecasts, MSN Web search and stock quotes, bCentral Banner Ad and Fast Counter, Expedia maps, and more. This feature does not require the FrontPage Server Extensions.
Lists

Using SharePoint Team Services, you can host and create your own customized lists, or you can select from a wide range of list templates. Example lists include announcements, events, tasks, and contacts. This feature requires SharePoint Team Services components and the FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions to be installed on the server.
Discussion Boards

Getting the whole team together on a discussion topic has never been easier! With this tool, you can easily create a newsgroup-style discussion board and allow your explicitly invited members to add information to the discussion board. This is not the same feature as the Discussion Web Wizard. This feature requires SharePoint Team Services components and the FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions to be installed on the server.
Surveys

You can create your own dynamic online surveys that can graphically display the results of your survey. This feature requires SharePoint Team Services and the FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions to be installed on the server.
Page Tabs

This feature allows you to edit many features at once. You can easily switch among several open pages by clicking your mouse. This feature does not require the FrontPage Server Extensions.
Table AutoFormat

This feature provides an easy and fast way to create very professional-looking tables within your Web site. The Table AutoFormat dialog box displays several selections for formatting your table. This feature does not require the FrontPage Server Extensions.
Optional Hyperlink Underline

Getting rid of the underline in hyperlinks has never been easier! Just select the hyperlink, and then click Underline on the Formatting toolbar. This feature does not require the FrontPage Server Extensions.
Border Button

You can control the appearance of cell borders and tables in FrontPage the same way that you do in Word or Excel. Just click the Borders button on the Formatting toolbar, and then select the format that you want. This feature does not require the FrontPage Server Extensions.

NOTE: If the Borders button is not displayed, follow these steps to display it:
On the Formatting toolbar, click the Toolbar Options arrow.

Point to Add or Remove Buttons, and then point to Formatting.

On the list that appears, click Borders.

Office Clipboard

This feature helps you to copy or cut content from other Office programs and quickly paste it into your FrontPage Web pages. The Office Clipboard visually stores the content on the task pane. This feature does not require the FrontPage Server Extensions.
Usage Analysis Reports

This feature accesses the server logs for your Web site. Server logs generally track how the user reached your site, word searches that were used, pages that were requested, and other user information such as browser and operating system. This feature requires that the FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions be installed on the server.
Top 10 Lists

This feature works with the usage-reporting system to allow you to quickly implement a list of the top 10 most-requested pages on your Web site. You can choose to display the number of visits to each page, the referring URLs, the search strings, and many more. This feature requires that the FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions be installed on the server.
Paste the Way That You Want

You now have the choice of preserving the formatting of content that was copied from other Office programs onto your FrontPage Web page. This feature does not require the FrontPage Server Extensions.
Custom Link Bars

This feature permits you to link to pages on or off your Web site. You can place link bars anywhere within your site, including in shared borders. Custom link bars can be customized with your links and do not depend on the navigation structure. This feature requires that the FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions be installed on the server.
Shared Border Background Properties

Using this feature, you can change the background properties of shared border pages. This feature requires that the FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions be installed on the server.
Save All

The Save All feature allows you to save all currently open documents at one time. This feature does not require the FrontPage Server Extensions.
Inline Frames

Inline frames are similar to frames pages, except that the inline frame and its contents are embedded on an existing Web page. Anything that you can place on a regular page, you can place in an inline frame. Inline frames can also be customized in the same ways as regular frames. This feature does not require the FrontPage Server Extensions.
File Upload

This new form element allows you to upload files to your Web server from a Web browser (Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or later and Netscape Navigator 2.0 or later). This feature requires that the FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions be installed on the server.
Handwriting Recognition

This feature is available in the Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, English (U.S.), Japanese, and Korean language versions of Microsoft Office. This feature does not require the FrontPage Server Extensions.
Speech Recognition

This feature is available in the Simplified Chinese, English (U.S.), and Japanese language versions of Microsoft Office. It includes two modes: Dictation mode and Voice Command mode. This feature does not require the FrontPage Server Extensions.
Database Interface Wizard

With this feature, you can create an interface with your database that allows you to modify, add, and delete records. You can also assign an administrator password for access to the created pages. This feature requires that the FrontPage Server Extensions (2002 or 2000) be installed on the server.
Navigation Pane View

You can display your site navigation structure instead of the traditional Folder List, while still in Page view. This feature does not require the FrontPage Server Extensions on the client during development, but the Server Extensions are required on the server at browse time for navigation bar support.
Multiple Navigation Structures

This feature allows you to create multiple navigation structures for your Web. This feature requires that the FrontPage Server Extensions (2002 or 2000) be installed on the server.
New Themes

The following themes are new in FrontPage 2002:

Axis
Cascade
Echo
Eclipse
Edge
Level
Network
Pixel
Poetic
Profile
Quadrant
Radial
Refined
Studio
Watermark
This feature does not require the FrontPage Server Extensions.
Field Set

The FIELDSET element allows authors to group thematically related controls and labels. Grouping controls makes it easier for users to understand the purpose of the controls. At the same time, the grouping of controls facilitates tabbing navigation for visual user agents and facilitates speech navigation for speech-oriented user agents. The correct use of this element makes documents more accessible. This feature requires the FrontPage Server Extensions (2002 or earlier) for form submission.
Advanced Form Button

This feature allows you to type text directly on the button and select a custom height and width. You can change the color and style of the text, as well as insert images on the button. This feature does not require the FrontPage Server Extensions.
Insert Hyperlink

The Insert Hyperlink dialog box is now further integrated with Microsoft Office. It contains numerous enhancements, such as recent files, browsed pages, create new document, and e-mail address (which also allows you to specify a subject line). This feature does not require the FrontPage Server Extensions.
Fill Right and Fill Down

This feature allows you to quickly copy content from one table cell to several others. This feature does not require the FrontPage Server Extensions.
E-Commerce Add-In

Subscribe to the Microsoft bCentral Commerce Manager service and then easily build a catalog of items in FrontPage to sell online. This feature does not require the FrontPage Server Extensions for development.
Language-Specific Features

To turn on the language-specific features, the Microsoft Office XP Multilingual User Interface Pack or the Microsoft Office XP Proofing Tools for the specific language must be installed on your computer.

More Supported Languages: FrontPage 2002 now supports 26 languages.

Unicode Support: Allows you to create and edit Web pages in all of the languages that are installed on your computer\'s Microsoft Windows operating system. This means that you can purchase FrontPage in a specific language, but author content in virtually any language.

International Support: Allows you to work with team members who are all over the world, and in the languages that you want.

These features do not require the FrontPage Server Extensions.
Security

Finer-grained permissions allow you to grant or deny access to users and groups through a \"role-based\" security model. FrontPage 2002 includes more roles, to give you even more control over who accesses the content on your site. These features require that the FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions be installed on the server.
Updated Media Gallery

Hundreds of new clips, an easy task pane interface, and the abilities to organize clips and to find new digital art on the Web are part of the updated Media Gallery (formerly Clip Gallery). This feature does not require the FrontPage Server Extensions.
XML Formatting Rules

The rules that govern the syntax of XML tags are stricter than those for HTML. A missing tag or incorrectly formatted attribute in an XML document renders the file useless.

When you select the Apply XML formatting rules option, FrontPage 2002 searches the XML code for missing or incomplete tags and applies the correct tags.

This feature does not require the FrontPage Server Extensions.
In addition to these new features, there have been numerous enhancements to existing FrontPage features.
