Summery of the story \"Uneasy Home-coming\"
Connie was on her way home from her holiday, and her husband was on a business trip at the time. She had a feeling of fear and uneasiness, when she was sitting in the taxi. She saw shadows and movements outside her house. After she has goes inside she\'s turning on the refrigerator and the water. She goes outside in the garden and sees that it looks like when they left it. She goes nervously back in the house. She feels for the switch and she gets relief when the light gets on. She\'s now so afraid and scared, that she can\'t get herself to go upstairs. She calls Mrs. Winston. Mrs. Winston is older than Connie, but that doesn\'t matter now, she needs to talk with someone. She needs comfort. But, Mrs. Winston tells her that there have been some burglaries and the burglar has beaten up Mr. Field, because he interrupted the burglar. When she hangs up, she gets the feeling of being sick. She takes a suitcase and starts for the stairs. She gets in the bedroom. There was ashtray on the dressing table. Her muscles turn to stone. Her blood run cold, she tilted the chair behind her. She looks under the bed and see an object, which is strange. After a very long time she drags it out, it\'s a bag filth with cameras, watches and rings. She knows that it\'s stolen, because she knows that some of the things belong to Sally Hamilton. Connie turns out all the light, so that the burglar can\'t see that she\'s home. She also locks all the doors. She notices that a window in the pantry is missing a piece, so someone can reach in and unlock. She\'s sitting at, the phone and suddenly she hears a soft whisper of footsteps in the kitchen. Her blood runs cold again. She sees the light from a torch on the floor. She recognise him and she wants to scream, she now knows that he\'s hunting her. She crept out the backdoor very carefully. She sees the motorcycle and sets it on fire. The burglar comes out and is trying to put out the fire, with his gloves, but that is impossible. The fire engines and other cars come up the road. She begins to cry, because of all the terror she have been feeling. But she was most sorry for Mrs. Winston, because she is the mother to the burglar.
