http://www.winroute.com/manual/lite.html:How do computers in the LAN interact with WinRoute?
WinRoute functions as a standard TCP/IP gateway (described below); the NAT reforming process is transparent. WinRoute's LAN IP address should be selected as the Gateway for all computers intending to access the Internet.
WinRoute may be configured as a LAN based DNS server. When WinRoute's DNS is enabled, any computer on the LAN may elect to use WinRoute's DNS service.
WinRoute may be configured as a DHCP server to automatically assign and coordiante the use of client, DNS server and Gateway IP addresses; greatly simpilfying LAN configuration and maintenance.
Det fortolker jeg som at WinRoute fungerer som en dns forwarder/caching.
