In dB 2 you should be able to just link the table as follows. In the files menu select get external data, link tables. Then find db1 containing tabel1. You may be requred to log in
What TYPE of security are you using? Is it something you have programmed yourself or are you using Access user/group security?
If you are using Access user/group security are youusing the SAME system.mdw file for BOTH databases? If you are using the same system.mdw file then you will be using the user currently logged on to access dB2.
If you are not prompted with a login form then there is NO Access, unless this is hard coded into the application. If it is hard coded into the application then it will be the current user (NT login) who is "logged in".
Do you know anything about application? have you made it?
tknudsen>You say "har jeg oprettet en bruger som har læse rettigheder til tabel1" and then you ask "Hvordan læaver jeg så en sammenkædet tabel i db2, som anvender brugeren fra db1"
From this I understand that table2 in dB2 DID NOT exist the the original program and now you wnat to include this. IF thsi sis correct then it should NOT be necessary to do anything other than link the table from db1 and it should work. But as I have no idea as to how security is being used then it is hard to say. HOW did you create a user with READ permissions on table1? If there is NO Access security
