Fast eller dynamisk IP hos Tele2ADSL?

Hope you understand english. Fixed IP is best if you want to have your own WEB server for example.
Get a router instead of a hub and you van have many PC's on the same connection. The router gets the IP address and the PC's get set up as dynamic IP's

The router gets connected to the ADSL modem and the PC's get connected to the router.

If you use a hub or switch then you will need to use one of the PC's as the "router" which means that you will have to have this PC switched on if you want to use the WEB.

Hvis i også vil have lokal netværk i mellem jeres computere, så i kan dele filer printer m.m. så skal i vælge en router og så 1 fast ip hvis i skal have en server op.

Hvis i bare skal på nettet kan i godt nøjes med 2 dynamiske ip´er, men en router ville være at fortrække så man har flere muligheder. eks. hvis man frå besøg af vennerne som også har deres comp. med!

tommyy -> nej hvis du bruger en swich, så behøver en af dem ikke altid stå tændt.

jeg siger ikke det er umuligt at få lokalnetværk til at køre ved brug af hub/swich, men det er bare mere besværligt at få det til at virke, modsat at bruge en router.

YES, a switch is just an intelligent HUB, a router is more than this, it contains two IP address, one for the WAN and one for the LAN.

Normally when you have a ADSL/CABLE modem you will only have one IP address, either fixed or dynamic. This is the adress which is seen to the WEB (WAN). If you have one PC then this PC gets the IP address. If you want to connect other PC's then they will also need to have an IP address, otherwise they can NOT get the information from the web that they ask for. So, to do this you must have a PC or a router to send the data to the correct IP address.

it may be possible to do this with a switch but I am sure it will be easier with a router.

Jeg har nu bestilt forbindelsen til ham på en fast ip. Så må jeg kigge på muligheden for router når pengene er til det. Mange tak for svarene :-)
