Uploading (more than 256 chars of) text to a DB

I want to upload (more than 256 characters of) text to a DB  from flash. Ive already built the flash side functions using LoadVars and the back end(through PHP). Now Ive found that I cant send more than 256 characters at a time. Is there a way around this problem without having to use the XML object or rebuild my back end. I thought of making a flash side recursive function that divided my string into chunks and sending them one at time until the whole string was sent. But I still have to reassemble them at the other end before updating the DB. Any suggestions direction would be greatly appreciated.

Use the POST method instead of GET - then there are no limitations of that kind :)

The default method is GET - use "POST" as third parameter for sendAndLoad() :)
