twayn at hotpepper dot com 04-Aug-2004 09:57 To get PHP 5 and mySQL working on Windows (2000 or XP), this is what I did:
1. I made an directory called c:\PHP\extensions
2. I placed php_mysql.dll (from the php-5.0.0-Win32.zip) in the above directory
3. I placed libmysql.dll (also from the php-5.0.0-Win32.zip NOT from my copy of mySQL!!!) in C:\WINNT\system32 (for Win2k) and C:\WINDOWS\system32 (for XP)
4. In the php.ini file, I edited the extension_dir to read: extension_dir = "c:/PHP/extensions/"
5. In the php.ini file, I uncommented (if you don't see this line, add it): extension=php_mysql.dll
