How to use Kdenlive?

Hello!

I found this site:

Correct me if I'm wrong but is kdenlive just an interface without any functions???

I found this:
In order to successfully use Kdenlive, you need KDE 3.0 or higher. Additionally, you need piave in order to do anthing useful - kdenlive itself is after all, just an interface :-)

So perhaps I need Piave?
