How to start Kino?

Hello!

I have after all manage to install Kino.

I can find it in the startmenu > multimedia > video > kino

But when I push it it just start a hourglass but it disappare and no Kino starts! (same from run command)

When i try to start it from the prompt it looks like (I guess I can start it this way):

[root@Stationary Kino]# kino
kino: /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6: version `CXXABI_1.3.1' not found (required by kino)
[root@Stationary Kino]#

Seems strange to me. I guess something is missing?

So if you got any idea what to do plase let me know!

I am not sure but try this, find the destination for "Kino" (use "find file") I think you will find one or more icon so you will be able to start Kino, if I am right then rightclick on you Desktop -> new -> url to program -> type the url where you just found those icon`s -> now I think you can start Kino from your Desktop

hello!

The only executable file I found for Kino was located at:
usr/bin/kino

I looked in the menueditor for the kino icon and that icon was pointing to that file.

i added open in konsole and when i tried to start it now I get an litle window saying that konsole ended with status 1.

I also created a link from the desktop but it worked as the link from the startmenu - No Kino starts.

I guess that I need to understand what this means:

[root@Stationary Kino]# kino
kino: /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6: version `CXXABI_1.3.1' not found (required by kino)
[root@Stationary Kino]#

Best regards
Fredrik

Hi
I know nothing about "kino" but I made a "test-installation" on my computer (SuSE 9.3) Kino and subprograms are default included in SuSE packets. After installation I only need to type the command -> kino -> click enter and the program is running. Take a look at http://www.helgec.dk/kino.jpg

Hello!

I'll be darned! ;-)

Yes, that is what I'm aming for too! It is not fair!

I will look around and see if I may found anything about libstdc++.so.6

Perhaps it is just a package I need to install like all others.

I'll be back!

Thanks!

Hello!

I found libstdc++6-3.4.3-7mdk.i586.rpm but the result is the same:

[root@Stationary mjpegtools]# urpmi libstdc++6-3.4.3-7mdk.i586.rpm
Följande paket måste tas bort för att andra ska bli uppdaterade:
gcc-c++-3.4.1-4mdk.i586 (på grund av otillräckliga libstdc++6 == 3.4.1)
libstdc++6-devel-3.4.1-4mdk.i586 (på grund av otillräckliga libstdc++6 == 3.4.1-4mdk) (j/N) j

installerar libstdc++6-3.4.3-7mdk.i586.rpm
tar bort gcc-c++-3.4.1-4mdk.i586 libstdc++6-devel-3.4.1-4mdk.i586
Förbereder...              ##################################################
  1:libstdc++6            ##################################################
[root@Stationary mjpegtools]# kino
kino: /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6: version `CXXABI_1.3.1' not found (required by kino)
[root@Stationary mjpegtools]#

Do you got any hints please let me know!

Hello!

Acctually no, my harddrive is just 10 Gb. It would be great if I could use mandrake but I guess I may give up soon and choose an other dist.

Best regards
