The idea was to create a second db that is a copy of the first, but just for educational use and with fictual data. A new user could play around in this db and learn about how everything works. I had hoped that I could have a commandbutton that opened the second db, but as it seems it is'nt quite that easy.

You can also use the TransferDatabase method (lookin help) to copy database objects (tables etc) to another dB

The question is'nt to create the second db, just a commandline whereby I could open this db from a commandbutton in the first.

If its just to open another database then you could use the shell function, or even Shellexe http://www.mvps.org/access/api/api0018.htm
