Alligevel oplever mange virksomheder, at resultaterne udebliver.
ankersen, do you want to show the pictures in a WEB page or what? Something else you should concider. Even though Access can store pictures it does have its limitations. I would suggest that the pictures are stored in a folder (directory) and all that is in the database is information about the picture, name and location for example.
I don\'t know much about databases, but the functions that I need is:
1. one that automaticaly shows the pictures as thumbnails (I would prefer if it could generate a thumbnail from each picture, so it doesn\'t download the complete fileand just shows it smaller (rather a little picture for each big).
2. and one that shows the pictures in a page, and automaticaly generates a new page from a standartpage that I make, when the number of pictures exceedes the page maximum.
(What I want is a page that gets new pictures, as soon as I have put them into the picture-folder!!)
I would only use the database for storing the picture information, although this could be stored in a flat file. You want to make sure that you have access to Access with your Service Provider, and also take into concideration, how much disk storage you have, pictures can fill quite a bit and I have an idea your talking about hundreds! There is also the bit about exracting the thumbnails, JPG pictures normally have the thumbnail actually embeded into the file but software is needed to get at it. There are programs on the market/freeware/share that can do this.
ankersan I would maybe be prepared to help you if we can come to some aggreement. I am no expert in WEB programming although I do have many years programming and database experiece. So it isnt someting that I can do in five minutes. So if you dont get any other anwwers then please drop me a line at tbs@io.dk and perhaps we can work something out.
