SMTP server missing in IIS control panel

For some reason my SMTP server is missing from IIS Control Panel and it is not an option to create a new one. Only FTP and Web comes op as option.
The SMTP Server works fine and runs under Services. I just can\'t change anything.
Any idea how I can get it back ?
I tried to reinstall it, but that didn\'t change anything. I don\'t want to reinstall IIS due to security.

You can make new in Internet Services Manager. Do you not have a mail server running under windows 2000?

Well my problem is that I for some reason don\'t have that option anymore.
Normally when you right click the server in IIS manager and select new, you normally get to choose between FTP Site, WEB Site and SMTP Virtual Server.
I only get the options FTP Site and WEB Site, not SMTP

Yes, I do run another mail server (Internet Anywhere Mail Server) and I have that disabled at the moment because you can\'t have 2 SMTP servers running at the same port at the same time.
I normally have the IIS SMTP server disabled and run the SMTP Server in IA Mail server. But I have a script (Hotfix checker - hfcheck.wsf) in which I wanted to ad email notification. I normally use Jmail (works fine with IA Mail Server) for stuff like that, but for some reason I could only get CDONTs to work in it, so I had to get the IIS SMTP Server back on line on a different IP address. Kind of tough without the SMTP option in IIS Manager.

klik start / programs / Administrative Tools / Internet Services Manager / Your server name / new / SMTP Virtual Server , and make a new smtp server.

When I click start / programs / Administrative Tools / Internet Services Manager / Your server name / new /
I only get to choose between FTP Site and WEB Site. Just like I wrote earlier.
The SMTP server is running under Services, but cannot be selected under IIS Manager.
FTP Site and WEB Site
When I restart the computer I get the following error (Only when the SMTP Server is running:

To make the virtual servers appear, install the File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks service. To do this, follow these steps:

On the desktop, right-click the My Network Places icon and click Properties. The Network and Dial-up Connections window opens and shows the default connections (such as the Local Area Connection).

Right-click Local Area Connection and click Properties.

In the Local Area Connection Properties dialog box, click Install.

In the Select Network Component Type dialog box, select Service and click Add.

In the Select Network Service dialog box, select File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks and click OK.

I haven\'t tried your idea yet, since I will first be able to later, but I don\'t see why that would change anything.
We are talking about a local log on (via Terminal Server)
File and Printer Sharing is intentially turned of for security reasons and the SMTP server has been visible before with these settings.

You were right. In an attempt to tighten the security of the server I disabled File and Printer sharing and didn\'t realize it removed SMTP from IIS Manager.
How did you find that article ? Even a very specific search \"SMTP and NNTP Virtual Server Missing in Internet Services Manager\" doesn\'t reveal it.

Oh I see, a search on technet worked. I actually did a lot of different searches on technet without finding the article, but \"SMTP and NNTP Virtual Server Missing in Internet Services Manager\" worked !

Thanks again
