If you used linux it would me quite easy. You can do using win aswell but i belive you\'ll need to write a program to do the job. You better ask someone else about this part. I don\'t now much about that kinda programming
Needs to transfer data from Windows client to Linux server on regularly basis as an excample each 10 minut. Could use some kind of programmed ftp client on the win client or any other suitable method. The file that should be transfered is a text file.
I see, the Linux is fetching the file via crontab, but i don\'t know a ftp server for windoes only client programs. Also possible to set ut the win as a file sever for Linux via Samba ? (And then use this \"wget\")?
It would be more complicated. I belive the easiest would be to use ftp. And the fastest aswell. I use af ftpserv called G6 FTP server, but there are plenty of \'em out there. Search download.com and find a free one.
Have found some web servers. Hope they will work ok under win 98. (If not I could use win 2000). Thank you very much for quick help. Hope and believe this will work. Thank you very much !!
He he, just a missprint ..
Her fant jeg jo litt (man siden): URL CONVENTIONS Most of the URL conventions described in RFC1738 are sup ported. Two alternative syntaxes are also supported, which means you can use three forms of address to specify a file:
STARTUP FILE Wget supports the use of initialization file .wgetrc. First a system-wide init file will be looked for (/usr/local/lib/wgetrc by default) and loaded. Then the user\'s file will be searched for in two places: In the environmental variable WGETRC (which is presumed to hold the full pathname) and $HOME/.wgetrc. Note that the set tings in user\'s startup file may override the system set tings, which includes the quota settings (he he).
