There is a program (Acc97) named ZSTP80.MDB (it is actually an Access database!) When you run this it starts a wizard, you just need to follow the instructions and enter the information it needs. Can you locate this file, or something like it? If you can, then I am sure you will understand what is required.
? mc_goblen, tahnks for the points, but why give them to me if you arent happy with the answer? I want tomake sure you know how to start the wizard or it would be pointless me trying to explain how its used otherwise. Once you have it running, get back if there is anything you are unsure of, OK?
OK, the wizard requires various information such as the MDB or MDE file it is to use. Then once it has all of the information it creates a setup kit for you. In this setup kit ther is a runtime version of access, this gets installed on the other PC\'s. This enables them to run your database but they cant make new databases because its a cut down version of Access which doesnt allow this. Understand now?
The database DOES NOT get modified, or as some believe, mad to an EXE. It is the same as before, only difference is that a runtime version of Access gets installed on the PC so that there is no need to buy Access
No, ZSTP80.MDB is used to make the setup kit. The setup kit will contain maybe 50 or more files, so they cant be on a single floppy disk. Place them on a CD or the network where all PC\'s which are to have the system have access to.
You install you database on othe PC\'s by running the setup.exe either form the CD or network. Its just like any other program which needs installing which you may have bought.
