File already in use

Fejl meddelse:
Error Type:
Microsoft JET Database Engine (0x80004005)
Could not use ''; file already in use.

Håber i kan hjælpe :o)

I would suggest that you compact and repair the database. You should be allowed to open the database even IF others are writing to it unless it is open exclusivly (one person only).

Hvordan tjekker jeg om det er "exclusivly"?
Og hvordan reparere jeg den??

Start Access without any database. Then from the Tools menu choose Database Utilities then compact and repair. Then locate your database and follow the instructions.
If the database is already open then you will not be allowed to compact it, and you should get a message stating who is using the database.

To open a database exclusivly. Start Access then from the files+open menu locate your database and then depending on which version of Access select open Exclusive. In XP there is a drop down in the Open button, in 2000 there is an Exclusive button or check box (I think). IF it is already open then again you will be informed as to who is using it.

If you try opening a database which is already open exclusivly then you will be told that the file is already in use. Its a bit silly, but you dont get told that it is open exclusivly!

Kan det ha noget at gøre med min connectionString???

If you can repair it then I do NOT think it is the database that is causing the problem. I havent so much experience with Access dB's on the WEB but some places to look are the following.

You must have the correct permissions (read/write) on the folder (directory) and database. Your connection string obviously must be correct, but you say that it has worked before, or?
If it has worked before then have you altered anything?

Make a VERY simple ASP page to open a connection and nothing else, this is to make sure that at least that is working.

n the connection string alter the name of the database and see what happens. If you get the same error then your connection string IS wrong, it isnt finding the database.
If you compacted the database then I SUSPECT that its your connection string which is wrong!
