Du skal nok downloade en update til word 97, også til printerdriver/fonts.
Hvis disse er installeret, er det nemt nok: gå til edit/insert menu. Åben
"insert character" menupunkt, åben europæsisk tegntabel, og clik på
eurotegn...

Microsoft Office Support for the Euro Character

Both Office 95 and Office 97 office suites support the euro character, a symbol for the new European Union common currency. (Earlier versions of Office do not support this character.) However, application support alone is not enough for the euro character to function. If the operating system does not support the euro character, the applications will also be unable to do so. In addition, users may need to update their printer fonts to a version that contains the euro character. If printer fonts are not updated, Office applications can still print the euro character, though not optimally.

How Operating Systems Render the Euro
For an operating system to understand the euro character, the following must be true: screen fonts must contain the euro character and keyboard drivers must recognize the keystroke for the euro character. Find details on Microsoft Windows support for the euro character by visiting the Microsoft Windows® Web site.

Why Updated Printer Fonts Are Needed
Even if the operating system has the necessary screen fonts and keyboard drivers to support the euro character, users may have difficulty printing it properly if they do not update their printer fonts. The printer manufacturer is responsible for providing this update. If the printer font does not include the euro character, a bitmap of the character can be used when printing, as described below.

What Applications Need to Print the Euro
Office 95 and Office 97 can recognize the euro character. Users who have the proper operating system, updated printer fonts, and a compliant version of Office (see below) should have no problems. However, without the correct printer font, the application must send a bitmap image of the character to the printer. Some applications can send just the specific character as a bitmap while others must render all characters in a document as bitmaps if any characters aren't recognized. In the latter case, users must set options that force the applications to print text as bitmaps and suffer performance degradation when printing. Here is what users need to know about Office applications:

Microsoft Office 95 Applications. Office 95 applications are not capable of sending a specific character as a bitmap. Therefore, if users do not have updated printer fonts, they need to set their applications to print fonts as graphics by going into the Printer Options box. This affects the entire printed document, not just the euro character, and will adversely affect printer speed.
Microsoft Office 97 Applications. Office 97 applications handle bitmap fonts differently for each application.
Microsoft Word 97. Word 97 can render a single character as a bitmap. However, Word does this automatically; the user does not need to change any settings to enable euro character support.
Microsoft Excel 97. Excel 97 can also render a single bitmap character. However, the user must change a registry setting to enable this feature. For instructions, see the Knowledge Base article number Q191191.
Microsoft PowerPoint®, Microsoft Outlook®, and Microsoft Access. None of these can render a single bitmap character. User impact is described above under Office 95 applications.
Future versions of Microsoft Office. All future Office applications will handle bitmap characters as Word 97 does today.
