Pauseafspilning - lingo?!?

Syntax
preLoadMovie whichMovie Description
Command; preloads the data and cast members associated with the first frame of the specified movie. Preloading a movie helps it start faster when it is started by a go to movie or play movie command.
To preload cast members from a URL, use preloadNetThing() to load the cast members directly into the cache, or use downLoadNetThing to load a movie on a local disk from which you can load the movie into memory and minimize downloading time.
Example
This statement preloads the movie Introduction, which is located in the same folder as the current movie:
Multiuser Server server-side function; copies the specified file to a new file with the name destinationFileName. This function returns a nonzero error code if it fails.
Example
This statement copies the file Longspeech.txt to the new file Shortspeech.txt:
>>When I ran the projector from the harddisk, it went >>very well and smooth, but when I burned it on a >>blank cd, the .avi turned slow and jagged. Can I >>make it runs as smooth as it was played in the local harddrive?
Generally, CPU, RAM availabilty, CD-ROM drive performance, Video Card, Video Driver, color depth.. all would affect the Video performance.
Secondly you try to have a proper Data Rate. Generallay, you may not see this particular problem on latest machines. When you run your AVI files on 1X or 2X CD-ROM drives, SURELY you will see the jerk while playing. But in hard disk it will play as it has 1500Mbps (approx.). You may use the following formula to find out the exact Video Data Rate.
(size of the AVI file in KB) * float(duration of AVI)/ (the digital videoTime scale)
Also, make sure you checked for direct-to-stage. If you dont.. surely it will affect the performance. When you do video compression.. select the best compression codec.. such as Cinepak, Sorenson..intel,. but still it is all depends on your project requirement. You need to try in all aspects. If the size of video is 320X240, it will give good result.
There is one more idea to play the video smoothly is to copy the Projector in the User's Hard disk and try to play from there. That would give some significant result.
If you are using QTW3, then install DirectX. It will improves..
Or else, if you does not bother you pocket, then go for third partly Xtras like DirectXtra.
Hope this helps, Kathir
