Prøv, at atge strømstikket ud af toweret i ca. 10 sekunder, så er der mulighed for, at pc resetter sig selv.

Xconfigurator er det vist iøvrigt - altså kun et stort X :)

Undskyld mit fravær, jeg har haft et par sygedage.
Jeg kan nu se i messages at følgende besked bliver gentaget utallige gange:

Så hvor/hvordan får jeg pillet i min display server?

PS: Jeg er lige ved at teste Xconfigurator (der i øvrigt peger på et program kaldet XFdrake)

Den direkte fil disse ting står i er:

/etc/X11/XF86Config-4

Du kan måske få lidt ud af logfilerne

/var/log/XF86free.0.log & måske
/var/log/xdm.log

(sådan frit fra huskeren :)

jeg vil tro at årsagen til at den slukker er at den forsøger at hende ved for høj hz - så mit gæt er at den nye skærm er enten mindre eller dårligere

Hvis du kan finde bitdybten i config filen eller konfigurator programmet, så prøv at sætte den ned

Xconfigurator synes ikke at virke via den term jeg logger på med...

Hmmm, i øvrigt det mærkelige er jo netop at det er den samme skærm som altid, og at jeg IKKE har ændret nogen config filer...hvorfor det kun kan være den hårde reset der har gjort et eller andet!

i /var/log/XF86* loggen i bunden - der kan det være der står noget

Her har du lige XFree86.0.log og XFree.9.log, de siger ikke mig noget.
Kan det tænkes at skærmen skal resettes? Det er en AOC 19", jeg har hørt at der kan være problemer med den!?

Det er lykkedes  mig at finde følgende fejl:

(II) XINPUT: Adding extended input device "Mouse1" (type: MOUSE)
Could not init font path element unix/:-1, removing from list!

Fatal server error:
could not open default font 'fixed'

Noget løsningsforslag?

Svaret viste sig at være at køre X -configure og så tage den FontPath der blev genereret og paste den ind i den eksisterende XF86Config-4.

var det ikke det jeg skrev med x configuratoren? Eller det var måske ikke til nogen hjælpe?

Det var ikke til nogen hjælp, hvis jeg skrev xconfigurator (med caps de rigtige steder), var der ingen respons.
