How many?
If it really is too many then normalize the dB

hi terry. It is to late to normalize the db, the db is in use. Can I connect to tables together or do you have an other solution?

Are you saying that you do have more than 255 fields?

You can make another table where you can store the extra fields. Make the primary Key a long int. Then on the form where you enter the data you can have these fields in a sub form which is linked to the main form through its primary key which is more than likely an autonumber and the new primary key.

Im not to happy to admit that I have used 255 fields, because i know what you are thinking about this matter. But I did.

Well the only soultion I can come up with Jan is what I have already suggested. But I would also suggest you try normalizing it.

I dont think you can ZERO the field counter. Access has field definitions in its own tables so can count what there is.
