kernel source not found

rpm -qa|grep kernel

Har du installeret kerne source kode? Ovenstående skal give dig en kernel-source-<version>

I ran that command and it returned
Kernel-pcmcia-cs-3.1.31-13
Kernel-2.4.20-8
what command should i run to make things work?
would it be Make install 3.1.31-13

Der er IKKE installeret kerne source.

Isæt RH cdrom 2 - mount /mnt/cdrom - rpm -ivh /mnt/cdrom/RedHat/RPMS/kernel-source-2.4.20-8.i386.rpm - prøv at installere driver igen.

does this mean a re-install of the whole system as it looks like as some of the things that make this work are missing??

You don't have to reinstall the complete system, but you need a lot of development tools.

Use X - add/remove packages - and add development tools and kernel development - this will do the trick.

Otherwise - a reinstall where you select the selections mentioned will also do the trick.
