How do I use livecd?

You start by making sure that your PC will boot from the CD drive and that the boot sequence is set so that it boots on the CD drive bafore booting from the c:/ drive

Then you place the live linux cd of choice in the driv and boot your machine.

The live Linux CD will start and you can start using the tools.

In the old days, the PC defaulted first to the floppy (which there is one), then to the CD, then to the hard drive. How do I make sure that the PC boots from the CD drive in the boot sequence?

By going into the BIOS setup and set the boot sequence to start with the CD drive, then floppy then c drive

Normally you enter the BIOS setup by pressing del, esc of F2 during startup
