Do I need to register for Power P. to be able to uplod hardw.conf

(Pardon me for that long header)

I use Mandriva 2008 free CD-version.
During the install I was asked to upload the hardware config file. But it did not work!
(I guess this upload feature is for backup to compare changes of the computer profile, but I do not know)

I had the same problem with Mandrake 10.1.

Do you guys think that I need to do something extra?
Perhaps this is just possible for paying customers?
