Installation af LAN driver til IBM T40

Pc'en kører Windows XP.

kan du måske i kontrolpanel-tilføj hardware-vælg-netkort- indsæt driverfilen

Det har jeg prøvet, men jeg ved ikke, hvor jeg skal pege hen. 1urc13ww.exe har installeret et bibliotek, der hedder DRIVERS, men når jeg peger her, så findes ikke noget, der kan bruges?

kan den værer zippet så du skal udpakke den?

Det virker ikke sådan: .exe filen har som sagt lavet et bibliotek, der hedder DRIVERS og under det er der et WIN og under det Ethernet og IBMPM, så det virker egentlig meget rigtig (som min forstand på det rækker)?

Når man har kørt .exe programmet (har lige gjort det igen), skriver den faktisk, at installationen ikke er færdig og henviser til dokumentationen, men det bliver jeg ikke meget klogere af!

ingen bilioteksstruktur. intet exeprogram, men nu har jeg åbnet den i vista og skal nu
have den overført til en xp maskine og se om det hjælper.jeg kan se jeg ikke har noget zipprogram på denne maskine, så jeg vender tilbage.

Jeg har brugt Windows indbyggede og filen ender med .zip. For ikke at den skal fanges i et virusprogram har jeg omdøbt den til .123.

  This package installs the software (Ethernet driver) to enable the

  - Intel PRO/100 VE Network Connection (10/100 Ethernet)

  Refer to marketing materials to find out what ThinkPad models

  This package also installs Intel PROSet for Windows Device Manager
  which is an extension to the Windows Device Manager.
  After the Intel PROSet software is installed, additional tabs are

Note: Before upgrading Intel(R) PROSet, you have to uninstall the current
PROSet that is installed on your ThinkPad.


Windows 2000

UPDATE INSTALL:
To update the driver,

1.  Extract this package onto your hard drive.
2.  Start Windows 2000.
3.  Click Start, select Settings, and click Control Panel.
4.  Double-click the System icon.
5.  Click the Hardware tab.
6.  Click Device Manager.
7.  Expand the Network adapters category.
8.  Right-click one of the following devices in Network adapters and click Properties. Intel PRO/100 VE Network Connection
9.  Intel PRO/1000 MT Mobile Connection
10. Click the Driver tab.
11. Click Update Driver...
12. Click Next in the Upgrade Device Driver Wizard dialog box.
13. Select Search for a suitable driver for my device (recommended).
14. Click Next.
15. Select Specify a location only in Optional search locations:.
16. Click Next.
17. Specify the path to one of the following directories in the Copy manufacturer's files from: field.
    - Intel PRO/100 VE Network Connection C:\Drivers\WIN\Ethernet\PRO100\WIN2K
    - Intel PRO/1000 MT Mobile Connection C:\Drivers\WIN\Ethernet\PRO1000\WIN2K
18. Click OK.
19. Click Next. The driver installation starts.
20. Click Finish when the installation completes.
21. Click Yes when prompted to restart the computer.

CLEAN INSTALL: (Found New Hardware Wizard)
If this is the first time to boot Windows 2000, the OS detects the Ethernet
Controller automatically.  To install the device driver, follow the instructions
below.

1. Extract this package onto your hard drive.
2. Start Windows 2000. It displays "Found New Hardware Wizard" dialog box.
3. Click Next.
4. Select "Search for a suitable driver for my device (recommended)".
5. Click Next.
6. Select Specify a location only in "Optional search locations:".

8. Specify the path to one of the following sub-directories with the full path name
    where you extracted the package in step 1 in "Copy manufacturer's files from:".

2. Start Windows 2000.
3. Click Start, select Settings, and click Control Panel.
4. Double-click System.
5. Click the Hardware tab.
6. Click Device Manager...
7. Right-click Ethernet Controller in "Other devices" and click

3. Click I accept the terms in the license agreement and click Next.
4. Select Typical and click Next.
5. Click Install.
6. Click Finish.

Unattended Installation
-----------------------

DOS drivers for unattended installation:
For customers who need unattended installation, the following DOS drivers are
included in another package (1URDxxWW package).  The DOS drivers can be used only for this purpose.

4. Click on the Find Now button.
5. It lists the NDIS driver(s).
  If it does not list the NDIS driver, the Ethernet device driver is
  not installed in your system.
6. Right-click on the NDIS driver that is found in the Windows folder.
7. Click on the Properties.
8. Click on the Version tab.
9. Click on the Product Version in the Items name: field.

Jeg har ikke kunnet få ovenstående til at virke, men jeg fik et tip fra vores søn om, hvordan man kan bringe det til at virke! Opskriften kommer her:

1/ Find driversiden på www.lenovo.com
2/ Vælg Support -> Download and Drivers
3/ Svar på spørgsmålene i dropdownboksene (se bag på under Type (fx. 2374 - 75G) - Type er 2374 og model er 75G)
4/ Klik Continue
5/ Find Ethernet LAN driver og klik
6/ Køre .exe-filen og følg instruktionerene på skærmen.

Nu tror man jo, at man har installeret en driver, men ak - her tricker IBM/Lenovo! Programmet, som man lige har kørt, har i virkeligheden kun overført nogle biblioteker og filer til ens C-drev i biblioteket Drivers. Gør nu følgende:

7/ Gå ned i Drivers -> WIN -> Ethernet -> APPS -> SETUP -> SETUPBD -> WIN98-WS32 og kør filen SETUPBD.EXE (hvor svært kan det være....!!)
8/ Dette gør, at driveren er installeret.

Jeg synes, det er en meget kryptisk metode, men samme metode kan anvendes på de øvrige drivere.

Ja - nu 'hygger' jeg mig med det trådløse netkort, der heller ingenting vil....!

Da jeg ikke kan give min søn point, vil jeg selv lave et svar - ok?

Iøvrigt kan jeg tilføje mht. det trådløse kort: i IBM T40 er det trådløse kort ustabilt og derfor kan det ikke betale sig, at der bruges tid på at installere det. Brug i stedet et eksternt PCMCIA kort, fx. ASUS AS-WL-107G - det installeres nemt, er billigt, fylder ikke ret meget og virker (fx. PRC Data)! En pudsig ting: sæt Windows til at styre den trådløse forbindelse, men gør det faktisk via ASUS menuen.

Først fra IBM T43 er de trådløse kort stabile.
