many ways to do so. the best one for internet users is OWA (outlook web access)

sorry, no web access, I red it too fast., you can have VPN to a RAS server and then you can connect to exchange or you can enable pop3 on exchange (it is by default) and open port 110

if you do open for pop3 then make sure that clients choose to leave a copy of mails on the servers, other wise they will empty their mailbox at home and not have it at work.

Setting up VPN or pop3 is fairly easy, so just tell me if you need help with that.

How do I setup VPN

I assume we are talking about NT here. If so, you will need to install the pptp protocol on a server with 2 net cards. 1 net card is in your LAN and another one is out on the internet. (this will prompt for installing RAS services if not already installed) then you set TCP filtering on the external net card so that all ports are closed expect for ports 1723 TCP and 47 IP, set a hack next to \"enable filtering\". All that is left to do is to reapply SP6a and that\'s it. you have a VPN server. VPN is a good, secure and free way from MS to create a tunnel thought a public ISP and encrypt all data through it.

It depends on your infrastructure, but usually yes. one has to be reachable from the internet and the other one has to be in your LAN. don\'t worry about the server allowing hackers to rout through that serve to your LAN, you only allow 1 TCP port on the external card. if some once can hack you through that then he can also do it now with your current configuration. again - all data that travels through pptp is being encrypted.

Når man har etableret vpn forbindelse, hvordan forbinder man sig så til exchangeserveren

as if you were in the network. if you arte using outlook then use exchange server and NOT internet mail

Et andet spørgsmål er: Jeg har installeret VPN (pptp protocol ) men når jeg
forsøger at logge på får jeg at vide at netværksprotokollerne der er angivet
under server ikke er installeret. Årsagen er at der på winNT serveren sker en
fejl. Dr. Watson kommer op, men uden nogen meldinger..
Nogen Ideer`??

after you install pptp on the server you must reapply the latest service pack

Tak ... nu virker det.. men nu får jeg følgende på clienten:

Netværk via modem kunne ikke finde netværksprotokoller, der svarer til dem, som du har angivet under indstillinger for servertype.
Kontroller netværkskonfigurationen i Kontrolpanel, og prøv at oprette forbindelse igen

Hvodan var det at man fik config. en Cisco 677/678 til VPN ??
