Sikkerhed i Access
Puppetmaster> It is also possible to park a van ouside your building and see what you have displayed on your PC! Your assumptions concerning data over the network but in these days, if someone does want to see your data then they will. But this security \"breach\" in Access will more than likely be the case with other database systems, and applications!
Well I can understand that things need to be kept \"private\" but do they expect this level of security? How do they communicate from day to day without having problems!
To be honest I am not sure where the decryption happens. If you have a frontend and a backend then I would have thought it would be necessary to encrypt both databases. Lets say you use VB to access the backend, then I would have thought that it would be VB (jet) that decrypts, so the it sounds logical that the data travels over the net encrypted. So I would also think that it would be the same as when using a frontend. But I too am not sure, and I havent worked with the health department, so I havent had to think so much about it :o)
Anyway puppetmaster, I have a little example of opening a secure Access dB from VB when your ready!
