it depends what they are doing? If you are thinking of using Access on the WEB then you will normally close your connection once you have done what you want so its very unlikley that you will have problems. Some say that you will get problems with about 10 or 12 but from my experience it is far more.
Another thing, users IS NOT the same as connections!

Den praktiske grænse legger langt under den teoretiske - forstået på den måde, at Access godt kan håndtere rigtig mange brugere, men Microsoft og andre anbefaler ikke mere end omkring 20 brugere.
Men det afhænger af mange ting: databasens størrelse og kompleksitet, netværkets hastighed, arbejdstationerne m.m.

Man kan øge antallet af brugere ved at lade hver bruger have sin egen front-end og blot lade den dele backenden.

Det har vel osse noget med computerens hastighed at gører, ik?
Altså, hvis DBen kører på en 386, så kan den vel ikke klarer mere end 10 stykker.

As Thomas says its BEST to have one backend and a front end for each user. The front end could be VB, Access or WEB(ASP). As long as you close your connections after use you could have 100's of users, and if you take into account locks (not many do) then again you will have few problems. Access IS a very good multi-user dB as long as you design and develop with (multi-user) in mind!

moebius-> jo både den server, databasen er placeret på og hver arbejdsstation har indflydelse på performance. CPU og RAM er de vigtigste faktorer i den henseende, men netværket belastning og kapacitet spiller en endnu større rolle.

There is a theoretical max of 255 concurrent connections. But theory and practice or NOT the same.
How many users are you expecting to be accessing the database at the same time? I dont mean LOOKING at your application, but pushing buttons to READ+WRITE to the dB!
If you design your program correctly a connection would be open for only a VERY short length of time, either to READ or WRITE and once finished it gets closed again. So you COULD have 100's of users using your application (VB,Access or ASP) but only a few actually READing and WRITEing (connections)
