Jet-database motor
If your database is on a web server then you will have to copy it to your PC. Then start Access without opening a database. Then go to the Tools+Database Utilities+Compact and repair Database. Then find your database and follow the instructions!
It only gives me the possibility to Compress, and when I press that button, I still get the same information as described above, but thank you for your suggestion. I have also tried to convert to 2000 but it wont let me - same message in the alert box again.
OK, one last thing, although I dont think its going to help! Make a new database and then import ALL of your objects into the new database. You can do this from the Files+Get External Data+Import and then follow the instructions. Hope it helps!
Right, but in a tight spot you'll do anything - logical or not. I am sure, that the error ocurred while trying to reestablish a link from a word document to adress fields in the database. We might have closed the window, and then tried again in another way - and then the database percieved to sessions were trying to do the same thing. Can that Jet database engine be JUMP STARTED?
No, sorry! I have heard of PROF. companies able to find the data again, but I have NEVER seen it done and i have been woking with Access a number of years now.
Oh yeah, back-up of cause, but that is a day old, and I think we'll have to go by that tomorrow, but still it is worth trying to save it. Thanks for your suggestions Terry. Best regards Peter
We have tried everything, the only thing that worked was to install the back-up from thursday morning, and thus our website is working again, and we only lost data from one day!! Does anyone know how I take this subject out/delete as it is no more relevant ?
Well there are a couple of ways, you can accept one or more of the answers (help) you have received, or if you dont think you recieved any help, you place an answer yourslef and accept that yourself.
