Backup af IIS
Hejsa.
Er det muligt at tage en backup af websites man har indtastet i IIS. Nu tænker jeg ik på selve filerne der ligger på de enkelte domæner, men simpelthen på opsætningen af de forskellige domæner?
The IIS structure is called Metabase and you back it up just like djelcmen described.
The actual backup file is located under WINNT\system32\inetsrv\MetaBack and can not be changed.
Just make sure you add this directory to any other backup you have if located on CDR, tape or other server..
You can script Metabase backup and schedule it. In windows 2000 it is included in the system state backup, but it's a shame resorting a whole system state just for IIS.
YES. I use it often when I uninstall IISlockD. it has an undo feature, but I often need the changes made to IIS between the install and uninstall. It takes few minutes but hang in there.. it works.
Having said that.. remember... The metabase backup is not done automatically. The *.MOD you copy, will be the same one every day even if you make changes to your IIS.
You have to manually do the "backup/restore" button thing, or scrip it.
If you are planning on a server reinstall, and then restore IIS (also know as "disaster recovery") I recommend using the same IP and same server name.
