koldstar this question has been up MANY times. Access 97, 2000 +XP has a theoretical maximum of 255 users but normally this will be less. There are a few things you need to concider when using Access. When you read data from Access you should close (free) the connection as soon as you are finished with it. If you do this then the chances of you haveing say 20 connections open at one time are VERY slim. Just as an example, there are "only" 148 users on line in eksperten, but not all of these will be accessing the dB (read/write). There are many web sites which use Access as the database without great problems. But IF yopu expect 1000's of simultaneous users then go for either MySQL or MS SQL.
Access implements its own security system which by default is ON, although you dont see it. You will also have noticed that when the db is opened a LDB file gets created. Well I could imagine that this COULD be used for this although I must admit I am not sure.
tak :o) and the same applies to your new question :o)
