2. Select the Cartridges tab and click Install Black Cartridge.
3. Select the black ink cartridge that is installed in your printer and specify whether it is an Old or New Cartridge. If you select New Cartridge, an alignment test will be printed.
H. My ink levels show full, but my print is fading and I'm getting streaks through the print. What's wrong?
The cartridges do not have any ink sensors in them. The levels are produced by a calculation of ink drops and page count. The printer software stores this information. The ink levels can be reset if you tell the printer software you have installed a new ink cartridge, or if you reinstall the printer driver. Once the ink levels have been reset, there is no way to change them except for printing.
