shttp://www.1hardware.com/largan_faq.htmQ. When I start Adobe PhotoDeluxe I receive this error. "The Shell32.dll file is linked to missing export SHL.WAPI.DLL:SHRegGetUSValueA". What should I do?
A. Adobe PhotoDeluxe (all versions) routinely presents this problem on first startup, and sometimes later. The problem is that PhotoDeluxe loads copies of two DLL files, 'Shlwapi.dll' and 'Urlmon.dll' into one of its subdirectories. Then when you run it, these versions may conflict with the ones in the 'C:\windows\system\' folder. The fix is simply to rename the files in the Adobe subdirectory as described below. That forces PhotoDeluxe to look in the Windows directory, and everyone's happy.
Here are the steps:
1. Click START \ Find \ Files or Folders
2. Type 'Shlwapi.dll' (without quotes) and click 'Find Now'
3. You should come up with at least two copies of the file. One will be in a Windows subdirectory - it's the good one. The other will be in 'C:\Program Files\PhotoDeluxe\HE 3.0' (or similar). It's the one causing the problem. Right (not left) click it with the mouse and select 'Rename' from the menu that comes up. Rename it to 'Shlwapi.old' and click 'OK'
4. Still in the 'Find' box: Type in 'Urlmon.dll' and click 'Find Now'. Again you will find two copies. Click the one in the PhotoDeluxe subdirectory and rename it to 'Urlmon.old'. Close the 'Find Files' dialog box.
NOTE: If you have any trouble with renaming the files, you can just as easily drag them to the Recycle Bin. That's it! You should be able to run PhotoDeluxe immediately, without rebooting.
