6. If the issue prevents you from logging on to a character, please try another
character. If only
one character is affected, please page a GM using the in-game menu and explain
your situation. If the problem exists on all characters, please try all the
steps below.
7. Check your hard disk for errors:
(Scandisk and Defragment)
You will probably find it helpful to disable your screen saver and power
management features before you scandisk or defrag. Sometimes Windows will
restart the defragmentation and/or scandisk if your screen saver or power
management kicks in.
(Windows 98/Me)
- Click on the Start button and go to Run.
- Type in "scandisk" (without quotes) and click the OK button.
- Follow the prompts and select "Thorough" scandisk and let it run.
- This will tell you if there are any problems on the hard disk.
- Click on the Start button and go to Run
- Type in "defrag" (without quotes) and click the OK button.
- Follow the prompts to defrag your hard drive.
- This will make the available space more usable by your programs.
(Windows 2000/XP)
- Open My Computer, and select the local disk you want to check.
- On the File menu, click Properties.
- Click the Tools tab.
- Under Error-checking, click Check Now.
- Under Check disk options, select the Scan for and attempt recovery of bad
sectors check box and the automatically fix file system errors box.
- Select yes to schedule after restart if a dialog box comes up prompting you to
do so.
- Restart your computer
- Open My Computer, and select the local disk you want to check.
- On the File menu, click Properties.
- Click the Tools tab.
- Under Defragmentation, click Defragment now.
- Select volume to Defragment.
- Click Defragment.
(CHKDSK)
- Open an ms-dos command prompt window by clicking 'Start'
- Click 'Run'
- Type in 'CMD' (without quotes)
- In the Command Window, switch drives to the hard drive in question ('c:' for
example), and type 'chkdsk' (again, without quotes).
Also, note that some customers have reported that hard drives larger than 127
gigabytes in size can have issues if you do not have the latest Windows Updates
from <http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/> . We recommend that you read all the
documentation that came with your hard drive of system. Many manufacturers have
special instructions necessary for proper use of 48-bit Large Block Addressing
on hard drives larger than 127 gigabytes.
8. World of Warcraft attempts to use your hardware to it fullest. If you
overclock your hardware in any way, even if other applications on your computer
are stable, it may cause problems with World of Warcraft. Please set all your
components to their factory default speeds while playing World of Warcraft.
9. If your system is becoming too hot, it may cause the game to freeze or crash.
You can test this by removing the side of your case from the computer for
troubleshooting purposes. If the issues go away, then we suggest adding a fan to
your system to help distribute heat in the case.
10. Try reinstalling the game from your downloaded installer files. If you no
longer have the installer, you can download it by logging in at
http://www.worldofwarcraft.com.
11. If your issue continues, please contact Blizzard Technical Support at
wowtech@blizzard.com . Include a detailed description of which steps above you
tried and your results. Please also include the following diagnostic files for
further analysis.
Please attach any text files in the "World of Warcraft\Errors" and "World of
Warcraft\Logs" folder to your reply along with two files, your dxdiag.txt and
msinfo.txt:
Important Note: Please reboot your system prior to creating the dxdiag and
msinfo files.
1. Click on Start.
2. Click on Run.
3. Type in DXDIAG and press Enter or click OK, this will open the DirectX
diagnostic tool. Run the DirectDraw, Direct3D and DirectSound tests found under
the Display and Sound tabs before creating the dxdiag.txt file.
4. Click on the Save All Information Button (save this file to your windows
desktop and name it dxdiag).
5. Click on the More Help tab and open the Microsoft system information tool
(MSInfo).
6. Click on File and choose Export (save this file to your windows desktop as a
text file and name it MSInfo). Please make sure to save this file as a .txt file
and NOT as a .nfo file.
7. Attach the dxdiag.txt and msinfo.nfo files to your email.
Special MSinfo Instructions for Windows 2000 users:
1. Create your dxdiag.txt file as explained above.
2. Now choose the More Help tab.
3. Click the MSInfo button.
4. Important! - Be sure to highlight the System Information in the top left.
5. Go to the Action menu, choose All Tasks, Save As Text File.
6. Save the file to your Desktop and name the file msinfo.txt.
7. Attach this msinfo.txt file and the dxdiag.txt file to your email.
Jeg har prøvet at geninstallere spillet. Det hjalp ikke.
Jeg har også prøvet at køre spillet i openGL mode without sound. Det hjalp heller ikke.
Til sidst prøvede jeg at hente nogle nye 3Ddrivere. -Heller ingen hjælp. For da jeg testede min 3Ddriver genstartede min computer på samme måde som når jeg prøver at åbne spillet.
Jeg tror måske det er det der er galt, men er ikke sikker.
