Novell client on WinXP Pro problem

have you setup the logon server! and the novell server ?

if it works on win98 you can use a file to make a unattende indstallation of novell

The server and logon have been set up for years! Im simply adding new and improved computers to the network. I am not on location at the moment so I cant get into details. However, I thought of something! Here is the network: Old1, Old2, Old3. New1, New2. Novell server. At the time of installation, Old2 and Old3 were on and showing that they had a connection to novell server (could run programs off it) and to New1 and New2. New1 and New2 showed only a connection to Old2 and Old3 and not Novell. If Novell server is connected through Old1 (which isnt on) would Old2 and Old3 still be able to run programs off it, while New1 and New2 cant see it?

it still sound lige the new computeres dosnt logon to the novellserver! like i dont know what adresse/name i has!

you should set it up so the new1 and 2 are connected to novell, else you wont have them online! unless you run the up against another servere that is connected to novell.

btw its normal that you can se the other computeres on the network! eventhou the are not running novell.

ok...I quess the question is then, how do I ensure a setup in which New1 and 2 are connected to novell? Just running setup is maybe not enough. At this point, the new computers dont know address and name. Where would they get them from?

(btw i get the logon message with username and password boxes along with tree, server and context boxes, when I browse there, nothing comes up)

then your computer dont know where to find them! you can you a text file to se it all up! i can put min up so you can se my uattende file installation when i get home, because there i have put logonserver, tree etc.

with that file i just use the acu.exe to install all of it where i dosnt ask me any questions (i use 2 text files, 1 for uatennede and 1 with the "adresses" etc)

this is the file that puts all the information in to the novellclient, you can modifi it so i suites your serveres.
