Spool32 is a core component of the Windows 95 operating system. It is a 32-bit component that handles the spooling of print jobs for Windows 95. The concept of spooling is to allow the computer ( CPU ) to process the print job quickly, and temporarily store it on the computer\'s hard drive before sending the processed print job to the printer for printing. This allows the computer to return control of the computer system to the user at a much faster rate than if it processed the entire print job and then sent the print job directly to the printer.

SOLUTION: The problem is corrected by going into Start | Settings | Printers | right click on the printer then to Properties | Details | Port Settings. \"Spool MS DOS print jobs\" and \"Check port state before printing\" should have the check boxes empty.

ERROR: The error might also show a: \"Spool 32 Caused a General Protection Fault In Module GDI.EXE.\"

CAUSE: An application, fax software or driver is interferring with the print spooler

SOLUTION: Steps:

*Go to the Start Menu, Choose Start >Settings >Printers.
*In the Printers window, Right-click the HP LaserJet 4M printer icon.
*Select Properties from the list of options.
In the New Window, Select the tab titled Details.
*Select the Spool Settings button.
*Select the Down Arrow next to \"Spool data format.\"
*Change the setting from EMF to RAW.
*Select OK, then OK again. Close the Printers window.
*Restart Windows 95 and try printing.
