How to run C++ from TextPad?

Hello!

I have just started to look at som C++ development. I use to develop in Java with TextPad. When I have installed the Java 1.5 SDK I get 3 tools in TextPad: Compile Java, Run Java Applivtion, and Run Java applet.

I have installed Borlands Free Command Compiler and now I can compile C++ from TextPad very easy by adding a Tool (bcc32.exe) in TextPad.

The question now is how do I start/run a C++ program from TextPad like "Run Java Application". When I have compiled it I for sure would like to test it.

Should I create some other Tool that points to some other exe file from borland in TextPad?

If any one got a solution for this pleas let me know!

Best regards
Fredrik

I do not know TextPad, but assuming that it is a simple command with parameter
substotution then it must be something like:

javac %1.java
java %1
bcc32 %1.cpp
%1

Configure -> Preferences -> Tools
Add -> "Dos Command" -> Enter MyProgram -> Ok
Apply
Select MyProgram
In Parameters -> $BaseName.exe

Oh!

I guess that I have missed something. Is it possible to run out of "svar"? Is that connected to your "karma". I have not yet understand the "karma" system.

How ever my intention is to thank you in the very best way so if it is possible to thank you in some other way with "karma" or something, please let me know.

Best regards
Fredrik

If you view Bertels profile you will see that he as a general rule do not
want points.

If you create a svar yourself, you can accept that, and you get your point back and the question will be marked as closed.

Unlike bertel I actually do collect points, but I just like to hav econtributed
a little bit in the question before I accept points.
