Jeg forsøger at lave noget password lokalt på min win2K via apache og .htaccess.
Jeg har lavet en .htaccess fil som ligger i min adm mappe
c:\apache\htdocs\htpasswd\jorsal_maskiner\adm

AuthName "-- adm --"
AuthType Basic
AuthUserFile c:\apache\htdocs\htpasswd
require valid-user

og en htpasswd fil via prompt, den generer godtnok en htpasswd.application men det er vel den jeg skal bruge?
Den har jeg lagt i htdocs. Det skal lige siges at der også via prompten blev genereret en fil ved navn "passfile" som indeholder:

henning:$apr1$la4.....$VytDy4fRUUm11J.9B9WNE0

som ligner det jeg troede jeg skulle have men den hedder jo ikke  htpasswd så jeg går ud fra at det ikke er den jeg skal bruge.
Så har jeg læst flere steder at man skal ind i apache\conf\httpd.conf og rette alle AllowOverride fra none til all eller AuthConf eller AuthConfig, genstarte apache og så skulle det kører men det gør det ikke jeg får ikke engang login billedet op når jeg går ind i mappen
hvad gør jeg forkert?

Det er ikke alle du skal rette til all men denne:

du skal rette til All

AuthName referer til et valgfrit navn
AuthType er hvilken type passwordbeskyttelse der er tale om, denne er ok at den står til Basic
AuthUserFile referer til den fil der indeholder dine brugernavne og krypterede password, altså den du lavede med prompten og htpasswd.exe
require valid-user sørger for at det kun er brugere der står i filen der har adgang!

Når du har rettet ovenstående skal du genstarte apache og det skulle så gerne virke.

men for en sikkerheds skyld: Hvordan har du lavet din .htaccess fil? Du har eks. lavet den med notepad og skrevet ".htaccess" i filnavn med gåseøjne og valgt alle filtyper i filtype?

Herefter kan du prøve at tjekke om mod_auth overhovedet er loadet på din server:
Tjek at der ikke er # foran denne linie:
AddModule mod_auth.c

Husk altid at genstarte apache efter ændringer i httpd.conf!

Hvilken version af apache har du?

Min version af apache er: apache 1,3

Skal den ligge i httpd.conf for det gør den ikke? eller hva går det ud på?


angående .htaccess filen hvis jeg kikker i properties på filen har den ikke noget navn men er af typen HTACCESS File så det burde vel være rigtigt

Der er i httpd.conf jeg henviste til, du skal se omkring de andre addmodule i httpd.conf!

Har du prøvet at lukke browseren og prøve igen?

jeg har rettet allowoverrider til All det sted som du skrev
men jeg kan overhoved ikke finde noget sted i httpd.conf hvor der står "addmodule" jeg ved godt det fylder men du får lige en kopi

Hvordan har du installeret din apache?

Umiddelbart har du ret og at du mangler en masse linier i din httpd.conf bl.a. omkring addmodule!

Prøv evt. at afinstaller apache, husk at slette biblioteket c:\apache manuelt også installere apache på ny ved at følge denne guide: http://www.webcafe.dk/artikler/apache/installer/

Brug denne til install: http://www.apache.org/dist/httpd/binaries/win32/apache_1.3.27-win32-x86-no_src.msi

Jeg har installeret via webcafe beskrivelse, dog en ca 1 år gammel apache,
jeg downloader en ny og ser om det bliver bedre og vender tilbage senere (sikkert i aften hvis alt går vel).

hurra hurra hurra
Nu virker det, jeg siger tak for hjælpen,
Nu har jeg i løbet af den sidste uge fået både ny php og apache.
Det skal lige siges jeg har været delvis ude af miljøet i et par år da jeg fik tvillinger i fjor, og stået i et produktionsmiljø på fabrik for at få dagligdagen til at hænge sammen rent tidsmæssigt, jeg har så bestemt at nu skal jeg til at igang igen, så få at få lidt øvelse har jeg indvilliget i at lave et par sites for forskellige bekendte, og jeg har egentligt glemt mere end jeg troede. Det gør det jo ikke bedre at jeg skal bøvle med både apache og php men nu skulle de jo være op to date. så har jeg forhåbentlig kun min egen uvidenhed at kæmpe med.
Men endnu en gang tak for hjælpen
